These are both great providers with small differences
Free stuff difference :
They both give free premium movie channels Starz/HBO/Showtime/Cinemax, Installation, Activations, and a similar free online viewing of movies and shows
Dish Network does offer "BlockBuster Pass" free for 3 months though, allowing you to rent new movies and games for free (It is Redbox and Gamefly combined)(Will be 24.99 after 3 months)
DVR Differences :
DirecTV - offers a "Whole-House" DVR system, one HD DVR that controls all TVs (Up to 4) (Cost 10-20 a month depending on the package, view deals here : Prices
This is very nice as it lowers the bill not needing multiple DVRs
Dish - Duel DVRs that control 2 TVs at once that cost about 14 dollars a month a piece

HD Differences :
You will gain a total of about 30 more HD channels with DIrecTV in their Choice Premier package
The other packages equal out to about the same HD Channels
Channel Selection :
DirecTV - Offers up to 285 Channels plus NFL Sunday Ticket
Dish - Offers up to 315 plus more sports channels
Customer Service :
They both offer excellent customer services with no complaints
The choice comes down to more channels or more HD channels, as most everything else is very similiar
